Oh, Canada.

The windows reached to the sky, clear glass smudged with the nose and hand prints of those eagerly and anxiously waiting to come or go, to run or return.
Toronto Airport loses what little luster it had after about an hour.
I have three more left until my plane leaves for Roma...it's going to be a long three hours. However, I was really happy that Air Canada has Dexter, the Tudors and 30 Rock on their little "on demand" TV screens that are on the headrests. Fantastic. AND I brought the Godfather to watch on the plane when I should be attempting to sleep.

I also wrote a "to-do" list when I get to Rome (obviously. Some people doodle or draw, I write to do lists) while I was milling around Newark...Here is my game plan as soon as my little maple leaf plane touches down on Italian soil:
To Do in Roma:
Get 3 day pass for metro and bus.
Figure out how to take the metro and bus.
Get SIM card for phone - get phone working! Text sleeping frank and family to tell them I made it all day. Email the chickies with my cell #.
Get settled @ my lovely convent - figure out how to get to my lovely convent.
Go to Termini Stazione to buy tickets for Saturday to Tropea via Lamezia Terme and the 23rd from Rome to Firenze.
Buy adorable shoes at Nero Giardini.
Find someplace wonderful that serves carciofi alla romana or fried zucchini blossoms for dinner.
Eat some nutella gelato.
Potentially eat more gelato.
Thursday:
Metro to the crypts OR catacombs.
Throw some coins in the Trevi.
Wine bar for lunch. Stare at passers by and probably tear up a few times.
Elevator to the panoramic view at Vittorio Emannuele monument.

I just want to get there already!
